Total Number of Open Cases: The reporting period for cases is the federal fiscal year (FFY), ranging from October 1 to September 30. For example, October 1, 2023 is the start of FFY 2024, which ends on September 30, 2024. The total number of open cases is as of the last day of the reporting period, September 30. If a case is opened during one reporting period and that period concludes while the case is still ongoing, the case should be reported as one case and not two separate cases.
